College of Dentistry

The Howard University College of Dentistry (HUCD) was established in 1881; making it the fifth oldest dental school in the United States. The program at HUCD combines education, research and service to produce some of the finest dental professionals in the world. Over the years, the College of Dentistry has graduated thousands of dentists who have gone on to establish practices and serve their communities throughout the U.S. and various countries.

The College of Dentistry has a diverse student body, having trained more African American students than any dental school in the United States. In addition, the College is committed to helping the underserved; having established community programs for the homeless, HIV patients and children as well as continuing to work with several minority AIDS organizations and community health centers to provide preventive and restorative services for local school children.
